Ethyl Myristate is Colorless to pale yellow liquid. It has a coconut and iris - like aroma and a sweet beeswax - like flavor. The melting point is 10.5 °C, and the boiling point is 178 - 180 °C (1600 Pa). It is insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, and slightly soluble in ether. The natural product exists in the fusel oil residue obtained from molasses.
