Product Description

Pyruvic acid is Colorless to amber viscous liquid, with an aroma similar to acetic acid and a pleasant sour taste, along with a slightly spicy and sweet flavor. The melting point is 12 - 14 °C, the boiling point is 164 °C (decomposition), and the flash point is 82 °C. The relative density (d415) is 1.267. It is miscible with water, ethanol, and ether. Even trace amounts of impurities can easily cause it to darken and decompose, so it is advisable to store it in a high - purity and airtight manner.
