Product Description

Thiopropionic acid is Colorless or light yellow transparent liquid. Melting point 16.8ºC, boiling point 114-115.5ºC (1.73 kPa), 85-86ºC (0.4 kPa), relative density 1.2199 (20/4ºC), refractive index 1.4921, flash point 93ºC. It can be miscible with water, alcohols and ethers.

Applications

3-Mercaptopropionic acid is an intermediate in the medicine Fenarol and is also used as a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. Like thioglycolic acid, it can be used in transparent products. Its stability is very good and better than other stabilizers. It can also be used as an antioxidant, catalyst and biochemical reagent.
