Product Description

Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone is white to slightly yellow crystalline powder, odorless. The sweetness is about 1500 to 1800 times that of sucrose. The time to show sweetness is slightly later than that of sodium saccharin but much faster than that of glycyrrhizin (5:7:23s). The time to retain sweetness of the three is 42:57:133s, which is also between the two. Therefore, it is closer to sodium saccharin. Good sweet taste, no aftertaste. Melting point 156-158ºC, [α]D25 -85° to -86°. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether and benzene.
