1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidinone is a colorless transparent liquid with high polarity, high chemical stability and high thermal stability. Its boiling point is 82-83 °C (-101.3Kpa), refractive index 1.4665Chemicalbook, density 0.994. It has the characteristics of high solubility, low vapor pressure and low dielectric constant. It can be used industrially as a highly efficient selective solvent, catalyst and cationic surfactant.
