Product Description

Methylene Chloride is Colorless, transparent and volatile liquid. It has a pungent odor similar to ether. Soluble in about 50 times of water, soluble in phenol, aldehyde, ketone, glacial acetic acid, triethyl phosphate, ethyl acetoacetate and cyclohexylamine. Miscible with other chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents such as ethanol, ether and N,N-dimethylformamide.

Applications

This product is not only used in organic synthesis but also widely used as a solvent in the production of cellulose acetate film formation, cellulose triacetate spinning, petroleum dewaxing, aerosols, antibiotics, vitamins, and steroid compounds, as well as a degreasing and film removal agent for cleaning metal surface paint layers. In addition, it is also used for grain fumigation and refrigeration in low-pressure refrigerators and air conditioning units. It is used as an auxiliary foaming agent in the production of polyether polyurethane foam plastics and as a foaming agent for extruded polysulfone foam plastics.
