3,3-Dimethylacrylic acid is widely used in pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fragrances, and surfactants. The fragrance is used in washing and cosmetic products to remove dandruff and relieve itching. It is non-toxic and non-irritating. Moreover, as an intermediate for pesticides and pharmaceuticals, it plays an important role in drug synthesis and pesticide synthesis. For example, it is used as a raw material for the synthesis of pyrethroids by the Martel method. The raw material for pyrethroids is used to synthesize excellent insecticides with high efficiency, low toxicity, and no resistance.
