It is used as a rubber vulcanization accelerator, and is also used as a raw material for synthetic fibers, dyes and vapor phase corrosion inhibitors.

It is an intermediate of the herbicide cycloazinone, and an intermediate of rubber accelerator, petroleum additive and corrosion inhibitor.
