2-Phosphonobutane-1 is a colorless or light yellow transparent liquid. The relative density (at 20ºC) is 1.275. The freezing point is -15ºC. It has excellent scale and corrosion inhibition performance. It is resistant to acids, alkalis, and oxidants. It does not hydrolyze even when the pH > 14 and has good thermal stability.
