D-Limonene has a pleasant, lemon-like odor free from campho raceous and turpentine-like notes.Usually a colorless and transparent liquid with a fresh lemon fragrance. It is insoluble in water and can be miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Its density is smaller than that of water. The boiling point is about 176 - 178 °C, and the flash point is 45 °C.
