Product Description

Para-Mentha-8-Thiolone is Colorless to yellowish-brown liquid. It has a blackcurrant-like aromatic flavor. It is a mixture of various stereoisomers. The boiling point is 62 °C (13.3 Pa), and the optical rotation [α]D20 is - 32° (in methanol) for the trans isomer and + 40° (in methanol) for the cis isomer. It is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohols.The natural product is present in Buchu leaf oil, etc.
