Aldehyde C14 is colorless to light yellow slightly viscous transparent liquid. It has a strong peach-like aroma. boiling point 297 °c; Flash point 137 °c. Soluble in ethanol (1 ml dissolved in 5 mL of 60% ethanol), benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, propylene glycol, lye, most non-volatile oils and mineral oils, almost insoluble in glycerol and water.
