Maleic Resin (Maleic Rosin Ester) is a light yellow, transparent granule, which is made from gum rosin and maleic adhydride through the esterification by polylol. The resin is well compatible with nitrocellulose and alkyd resin, which enhance the hardness, adhesiveness, drying time, good gloss.
Soluble in aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones, and esters, insoluble in alcohols, glycols and water.

It is used as tackifier for nitrocellulose paint.
