Methyl anthranilate is Colorless to pale yellow liquid, with blue fluorescence, having the aroma of orange flower and fruit. Freezing point is 24ºC, boiling point is 273ºC, and it is 132ºC (1.87kPa). It is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether, and slightly soluble in water and glycerol. The oral LD50 for rats is 2910mg/kg, and the Adl is 0 - 1.5mg/kg (FAO/WHO 1994).
