Pale yellow viscous liquid with a special cinnamon aroma. Soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform and oil, soluble in propylene glycol, insoluble in water and glycerol. It is easily oxidized into silicic acid in the air, which can be volatilized with water vapor.
