The main uses of diphenylamine are in the field of rubber chemicals, for the production of antioxidants, inhibitors, and accelerators. As a dye intermediate, it can be used to produce products such as Acid Yellow G, Acid Orange N, Acid Ink Blue A, and Disperse Blue 5R. It is also an intermediate for plastic stabilizers, veterinary drug sulfide diphenylamine, and phenothiazine. Diphenylamine is also used as a stabilizer for nitrocellulose and smokeless gunpowder, an analytical reagent, a redox indicator, and a liquid desiccant.
