When heated, it turns into a dark green-blue precipitate. With further heating, it changes to black-blue. After dilution, a green-blue precipitate is produced. Dyed substances are yellowish-olive in alkaline sodium hydrosulfite solution and can restore their original color after oxidation; they are completely decolorized in sodium hypochlorite solution.
