Product Description

Colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid. With a strong aroma of banana and pear. Easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Almost insoluble in water, propylene glycol and glycerol.

Applications

Isoamyl butyrate is an edible flavoring permitted by China. It is often used to modulate fruit-flavored edible essences such as apples and bananas and for flavoring rum. The dosage is based on normal production needs. Generally, the dosage in chewing gum is 570mg/kg; in candies it is 79mg/kg; in baked foods it is 51mg/kg; in cold drinks it is 34mg/kg; and in soft drinks it is 13mg/kg.
