ermaotie;FERROCEN;catane;Oxolan-3-ol;DICYCLOPENTADIENYLIRON;IRON DICYCLOPENTADIENYL;BIS(CYCLOPENTADIEN)IRON;BIS(CYCLOPENTADIENYL)IRON;FERROCENE;NSC 44012
Ferrocene is Orange-yellow needle-like crystals. Melting point 172.5-173 °C, sublimation above 100 °C, boiling point 249 °C. Soluble in dilute nitric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid, benzene, ether, petroleum ether and tetrahydrofuran. In dilute nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid, a deep red solution with blue fluorescence is generated. Insoluble in water, 10% sodium hydroxide and hot concentrated hydrochloric acid. In the boiling liquids of these solvents, ferrocene neither dissolves nor decomposes. It can volatilize with water vapor and has a smell similar to camphor. Stable in air, it has a strong ability to absorb ultraviolet rays and is quite stable to heat and can withstand heating at a high temperature of 470 °C.
