Sodium bicarbonate
NAHCO3;SODIUM HYDROGEN CARBONATE;BAKING SODA;sodium bicarbonate solution;Sodium bicarbonate, GR,≥99.8%;BICARBONATE OF SODA;Sodium hydrocarbonate;TSQN;Sodium bicarbonate, AR,≥99.8%;Natrium Bicarbonate
White powder or opaque monoclinic fine crystals. Odorless and salty in taste. Its solubility in water is less than that of sodium carbonate. The solid begins to decompose gradually above 50°C to generate sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide and water, and completely decomposes at 270°C. Sodium bicarbonate is an acid salt generated by the neutralization of a strong base and a weak acid. When dissolved in water, it shows weak alkalinity. This characteristic is often used as a leavening agent in the food production process. After the action of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate will be left behind. Excessive use will make the finished product have an alkaline taste.
