Product Description

DL-Aspartic acid is colorless or white, odorless crystal with a sour taste. It has no optical activity. It melts and decomposes at about 280ºC. It is difficult to dissolve in water and insoluble in ethanol and ether. It is a non-essential amino acid and can be used as a nutritional supplement.

Applications

DL-Aspartic acid (DL-Asp) has important uses in medicine. It can be used to synthesize potassium magnesium DL-aspartate (Mexiletine) for treating arrhythmia, tachycardia, heart failure, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, hepatitis and liver cirrhosis and other diseases. It is also an intermediate for synthesizing polypeptides.
