Caprylyl Acetate is Colorless liquid. Boiling point is 208ºC, relative density is 0.865 - 0.868, refractive index is 1.418 - 1.421, flash point is 85ºC. It is soluble in 4 volumes of 70% ethanol and fats, with an acid value < 1.0. It has a fatty - waxy aroma with a slight floral and fresh fragrance. It has a floral aroma similar to that of grandiflora jasmine and iris, and a fruity aroma similar to that of apples and sweet oranges. It has the after - notes of neroli, jasmine and rose, and a woody undertone. Its fragrance - retaining power is relatively poor.
