Product Description

Ammonium metavanadate, chemical formula NH4VO3. Molecular weight 116.98. White or slightly yellowish crystalline powder. Slightly soluble in cold water, hot ethanol and ether, and soluble in hot water and dilute ammonium hydroxide. Its aqueous solution turns yellow quickly. Heating in vacuum starts to decompose at 135ºC. When the temperature exceeds 210ºC, low-valent vanadium oxides V2O3 and V2O4 are formed. When burned in air, it turns into vanadium pentoxide.
