Product Description

4-Aminosalicylic acid  is White crystalline. Melting point is 150-151ºC (decomposition). Odorless or slightly acetone odor. Soluble in dilute nitric acid, dilute sodium hydroxide, acetone, sodium bicarbonate and phosphoric acid, slightly soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in diethyl ether, insoluble in water and benzene. At 40ºC, the aqueous solution of this product is unstable and decomposes to release carbon dioxide and generate aminophenol. Exposed to air, it turns brown.
