Product Description

1,5-Diaminopentane is a pasty liquid. The boiling point is 178 - 180 °C, 78 - 80 °C (1.6 kPa). The relative density is 0.873 (25/4 °C), and the refractive index is 1.463. It is readily soluble in water and ethanol, sparingly soluble in ether. It can solidify and crystallize under deep freezing, but melts back into a liquid at room temperature. It has the odor of piperidine, smokes in the air, and can form a dihydrate.
