Gamma Octalactone is colorless to slightly yellow oily liquid. It has a sweet fruity aroma of peach and coconut and oatmeal bread. Boiling point 234 °c, flash point > 100 °c. Soluble in ethanol and oil, slightly soluble in water, difficult to dissolve in propylene glycol.
