ALPHA-humulene is one of the components in the essential oil extracted from the cones of the flowering plant Humulus lupulus. The content of ALPHA-humulene varies in different plants. ALPHA-humulene and its reaction products impart a unique aroma to beer during the brewing process. Current research suggests that pharmacological studies of ALPHA-humulene have found it to have anti-inflammatory effects and can effectively prevent the invasion of viruses that cause respiratory diseases such as colds and pneumonia into the human body. There have been no reports on its anti-itching effects yet.
