Product Description

Isatin is Orange-red monoclinic prism crystals. Melting point: 203.5 °C (partially sublimates). Easily soluble in hot ethanol, slightly soluble in ether, soluble in hot water, benzene, acetone, and soluble in alkali metal hydroxides. The solution is purple-red and turns yellow after standing. Extremely weakly alkaline. Bitter taste.
