Zinc chloride is White hexagonal crystal granular crystal or powder. Easily soluble in water, soluble in methanol, ethanol, glycerol, acetone, and ether, insoluble in liquid ammonia. It has strong deliquescence and can absorb moisture from the air and deliquesce. It has the characteristics of dissolving metal oxides and cellulose. Molten zinc chloride has very good electrical conductivity. When heated, there is a thick white smoke generated. Zinc chloride is corrosive and harmful and should be stored sealed in a dry place.
