White crystalline solid; with a sweet osmanthus-scented paste aroma, similar to tolu balsam and storax, and also with some rose and cherry-like fruity aromas. The aroma is weak but relatively lasting. The fragrance is a sweet fruity aroma like plums and cherries. Melting point: 58°C; boiling point >300°C; flash point >54-56°C; 1 gram dissolves in 10 milliliters of 95% ethanol with slight turbidity. Soluble in hot ethanol.
