In the chemical industry, it is used as a raw material for manufacturing persulfates and hydrogen peroxide, a polymerization promoter for organic polymers, and an initiator for vinyl chloride monomer polymerization. In the oil and soap industries, it is used as a bleaching agent. It is also used as a corrosive agent for metal plate etching and in aspects such as oil extraction in the petroleum industry. At food grade, it is used as a wheat quality improver and a mildew inhibitor for beer yeast.
