PARA TOLUIC ACID is a white or light yellow crystalline powder. It is easily soluble in methanol and ether, sparingly soluble in hot water, and can volatilize with water vapor. Through oxidation, it can obtain phthalic acid and can be used as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, photographic materials, pesticides, and organic pigments. It is mainly used in the manufacture of tranexamic acid, p-tolunitrile, p-toluoyl chloride, photographic materials, etc.
